TCS Interview Experience For CodeVita 2024

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) CodeVita has become a prestigious platform for budding programmers to showcase their skills and compete globally. It’s not just a coding competition; it’s an opportunity to get an Interview at TCS. For many, cracking the TCS CodeVita interview is a stepping stone towards a promising career in the tech industry. As someone who recently experienced the process firsthand, I’d like to share my journey to provide insights and tips for future aspirants.

TCS CodeVita is a contest where we are 2 rounds, each round has 6 questions. If you solved at least 1 question in round 1 you will get TCS TAG Invitation and you will be eligible for round 2. This year (2024) they introduced a new round named TCS TAG. This was an offline coding exam held at the nearest TCS ION Digital Centre.
There were 2 questions :

• Problem 1
• Problem 2

I got an interview call as I solved 3 out of 6 questions and got rank 221 in round 2 and both questions in the TCS TAG exam.

Interview Round

There was only 1 interview all 3 interviewers were in the same panel.

Technical questions :

• Introduce yourself.
• Explain personal projects and final year projects as I was an ECE student.
• which language are you comfortable in what will you rate yourself in C++ out of 10?
• then TR gave me a pen and paper and asked me to solve the question Print all permutations.
• then asked me to print a pyramid pattern
• The next question was modified Kadane’s Algorithm with modifications as he asked me the range where we get the largest sum.
• Then he asked me to solve any one question from the TCS TAG exam and the next question from Codevita round 2.

May be because i mentiond i am 2 times ICPC regionalists in my resume hence asked me all the coding questions none of the other candidates were had coding questions. I answered all the questions so he was pretty impressed.

Managerial questions :

• What are 7 different layers of the OSI Reference Model?
• Difference between TCS and UDP.
• Difference between IPV4 and IPV6.
• What is Kernel
• What is the candidate key and unique key
• Give DDL, and DML commands example
• What is Truncate, Delete and Drop
• What does mean to the system? out.println meaning in JAVA.

HR Questions :

• Your internship were paid?
• What was the mode of payment?
• Was it included in PF?
• Where are you from, how do you come here, where you are staying?
• Willing to relocate, will you work on the Support project, Night shift, or any education gap?

Surprisingly they didn’t ask me OOPS questions, it was good for me because they were asking to code for OOPS conceps which were that I wasn’t familiar with .Also they were asking DBMS queries like printing duplicates of the table table, printing common columns from 3 tables. Also prepare pattern problems like triangles, diamond etc.

Overall Interview was not so hard, it was easy and interviewers were friendly they were making me feel comfortable during the interview and will were helping to recall answers. but during questions, they tred to confuse me also so be confident.

After 7 days I got offer letter and i were offered Digital role
