In this article, we are going to see how to set the dash pattern of the border of canvas Textbox using FabricJS. The canvas means Textbox is movable and can be stretched according to requirement. Further, the Textbox can be customized when it comes to initial stroke color, fill color, stroke width, or radius.

Approach:

  • To make it possible, we are going to use a JavaScript library called FabricJS.
  • After importing the library using CDN, we will create a canvas block in the body tag which will contain our Textbox.
  • After this, we will initialize instances of Canvas and Textbox provided by FabricJS and set the dash pattern of the border of canvas Textbox using borderDashArray property and render the Textbox on the Canvas as given in the below example.

Syntax:

fabric.Textbox('text', {
    borderDashArray: array
});

Parameters: This function accepts single parameters as mentioned above and described below:

  • borderDashArray: This parameter defines the dash pattern of border.

Example: This example uses FabricJS to set the dashed pattern of the border of a canvas-like Textbox as given below. Note that you have to click on the ellipse to see the border.
