SCCM Client agent is application software used for configuration management on the on-premise environment. In this article, we will show step-by-step instructions on removing the SCCM client or uninstalling the Microsoft System Center Configuration Management Client from your Windows Client or Windows Server. Follow these steps to uninstall an SCCM Client from Windows. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Log in to your on-premise Windows Client or Server

Step 2: After you log in to your windows server >> open the windows command prompt in administrative mode.

cmd prompt

Note: You must run the command prompt as “Run as administrator”.

Step 3: Change the path to the client agent location. For example, on my windows server, sccm client software was installed at the “C:\Windows\ccmsetup” path.

cd C:\Windows\ccmsetup

After you navigate to the specific location path on the windows client run the below following command to uninstall sccm client from your windows.

ccmsetup.exe /uninstall

commands

Step 4: Once you did uninstall the SCCM client agent >> close your command prompt and restart your windows.

To verify the agent uninstallation you can also check the task manager “services” ccmsetup.exe. It should disappear, once the uninstallation is completed.  That’s it you are done with uninstalling an SCCM client from your on-premise windows server or client.
