Program to convert Java list of Strings to a Vector in Scala
A java list of Strings can be converted to a Vector in Scala by utilizing toVector method of Java in Scala. Here, we need to import Scala’s JavaConversions object in order to make this conversions work else an error will occur.
Now, lets see some examples and then discuss how it works in details.
Example:1#
import scala.collection.JavaConversions. _
object GfG
{
def main(args : Array[String])
{
val list = new java.util.ArrayList[String]()
list.add( "Geeks" )
list.add( "for" )
list.add( "Geeks" )
val vec = list.toVector
println(vec)
}
}
|
Output:
Vector(Geeks, for, Geeks)
Therefore, the resultant output is in same order as stated in the above list and the duplicates are also not deleted.
Example:2#
import scala.collection.JavaConversions. _
object GfG
{
def main(args : Array[String])
{
val list = new java.util.ArrayList[String]()
list.add( "My" )
list.add( "name is" )
list.add( "Nidhi" )
val vec = list.toVector
println(vec)
}
}
|
Output:
Vector(My, name is, Nidhi)
Here, the stated Strings are not stated in proper order so the resultant output is also not in proper order. As here strings with more number of words are displayed first.
