A java Set of Strings can be converted to a String in Scala by utilizing toString method of Java in Scala. Here, we need to import Scala’s JavaConversions object in order to make this conversions work.
Now, lets see some examples and then discuss how it works in details.
Example:1#
import scala.collection.JavaConversions. _
object GfG
{
def main(args : Array[String])
{
val set = new java.util.HashSet[String]()
set.add( "geeks" )
set.add( "for" )
set.add( "geeks" )
val str = set.toString
println(str)
}
}
|
Here, the duplicate elements are eliminated and the resultant order of the elements in set is same as stated above.
Example:2#
import scala.collection.JavaConversions. _
object GfG
{
def main(args : Array[String])
{
val set = new java.util.HashSet[String]()
set.add( "I" )
set.add( "am an" )
set.add( "author" )
val str = set.toString
println(str)
}
}
|
Output:
[author, I, am an]
Here, in the resultant output the strings of more length are displayed first and the strings with more words are displayed at last.
