PyQt5 QSpinBox – Checking if it is ancestor of given child

In this article we will see how we can check if the spin box is ancestor of the given child. If spin box is a parent, (or grandparent and so on to any level), of the given child, and both spin box and child are within the same window then true it is ancestor otherwise it is not.

In order to do this we use isAncestorOf method with the spin box object.

Syntax : spin_box.isAncestorOf(child)

Argument : It takes QWidget object argument

Return : It returns bool
