Round 1 (Online MCQs and Coding): The Online Test was held on HackerEarth Platform and was of 60 minutes. The test consisted of two sections.

Section 1: Consisted of 25 MCQs (2 marks each and no negative marking). The MCQs were based on Aptitude, Data Structures, Algorithms, DBMS, etc. and were of moderate difficulty(not too easy and not too hard).

Section 2: Consisted of 1 coding question which carried 50 marks. It was a problem similar to https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/kth-most-frequent-character-in-a-given-string/ with some modifications. We had 4 choices of languages – C, C++, Java, Python, and Cut/Copy/Paste was disabled.

Scoring 80-85 should make you clear the first round. A total of 15 students from our campus cleared the first round.

Round 2 (F2F Interview): Due to the ongoing pandemic, the interview was conducted virtually and the platform used was Zoom. The interview started with the question “Introduce yourself”. The interviewer then asked about my interests which I mentioned in my resume. It was a normal conversation about my interests. Then the interviewer switched to some technical questions.

  1. The interviewer asked me about Elevator Design Problem. (I explained what I knew and the interviewer also helped in this).
  2. Which is the hardest problem you solved till now and why did you feel it hard?
  3. Questions on Data Structures (Based on Stack, Queue, Priority Queue, Heaps, etc..)
  4. Which language do you prefer and Why? (I had mentioned both C++ and Java in my resume. So I had to choose one language and give my supporting statements).
  5. Difference between call by reference and call by value.
  6. I mentioned Operating Systems in my resume. So I had questions on that like:-
  7. What is paging and explain its mechanism? What is the logical address and physical address?
  8. Questions on page replacement algorithms (FIFO, LRU, etc.).

At last, the interviewer asked whether I want to ask some questions which I did. After answering my question and before concluding the interview the interviewer gave me a word of motivation. The interview lasted around 30 minutes.

We got the results on the same day and 5 members (out of 15) were selected for the internship in Bangalore and luckily I was one of them. I would like to thank Geeks for Geeks that provided almost all content necessary for placement preparation.
