PyQt5 QCalendarWidget – Enabling/Disabling Auto Fill Background Property
Last Updated :
10 Aug, 2021
In this article we will see how we enable or disable the auto fill property of the QCalendarWidget, this property will cause Qt to fill the background of the calendar before invoking the paint event. The color used is defined by the QPalette. By default this property is false.
This property should be handled with caution in conjunction with Qt Style Sheets. When a calendar has a style sheet with a valid background or a border-image, this property is automatically disabled.
In order to do this we will use setAutoFillBackground method with the QCalendarWidget object.
Syntax : calendar.setAutoFillBackground(True)
Argument : It takes bool as argument
Return : It return None
Below is the implementation
Python3
from PyQt5.QtWidgets import *
from PyQt5 import QtCore, QtGui
from PyQt5.QtGui import *
from PyQt5.QtCore import *
import sys
class Window(QMainWindow):
def __init__( self ):
super ().__init__()
self .setWindowTitle( "Python " )
self .setGeometry( 100 , 100 , 600 , 400 )
self .UiComponents()
self .show()
def UiComponents( self ):
self .calendar = QCalendarWidget( self )
self .calendar.setGeometry( 50 , 10 , 400 , 250 )
self .calendar.setStyleSheet( "background : lightgreen;" )
self .calendar.setAutoFillBackground( True )
App = QApplication(sys.argv)
window = Window()
sys.exit(App. exec ())
