In this article we will see how we can get number of video outputs of the MediaPlayer object in the python vlc module. VLC media player is a free and open-source portable cross-platform media player software and streaming media server developed by the VideoLAN project. MediPlyer object is the basic object in vlc module for playing the video. We can create a MediaPlayer object with the help of MediaPlayer
method. Video outputs are the output source for normal devices there will only have single video output but it can be greater than 1 as well.
In order to do this we will use has_vout
method with the MediaPlayer object
Syntax : media_player.has_vout()
Argument : It takes no argument
Return : It returns integer
Below is the implementation
import vlc
import time
media_player = vlc.MediaPlayer()
media = vlc.Media( "death_note.mkv" )
media_player.set_media(media)
media_player.play()
time.sleep( 5 )
value = media_player.has_vout()
print ( "Number of Video output(s) : " )
print (value)
|
Output :
Number of Video output(s) :
1
Another example
Below is the implementation
import vlc
import time
media_player = vlc.MediaPlayer()
media = vlc.Media( "1mp4.mkv" )
media_player.set_media(media)
media_player.play()
time.sleep( 5 )
value = media_player.has_vout()
print ( "Number of Video output(s) : " )
print (value)
|
Output :
Number of Video output(s) :
1
