Stata is a statistical software developed by StataCorp in 1985. It is used for data manipulation and visualization and is used by many researchers in many fields. It works on all Operating systems (WINDOWS, LINUX, and MacOS). This software does not come with a free version but it does offer a free trial for customers. It was written and implemented in C language. It is termed the most user-friendly data analysis software and is quite popular in the social sciences.

Advantages

  • It has a user-friendly interface.
  • It is quite easy to learn. Also, there are many resources available on online platforms to learn about this software.
  • To use the tool, the user does not need to be an expert researcher.
  • It permits the users to manage, analyze, and generate graphical visualizations of data.

Written and Developed It was created by SPSS Inc in 1968 and later acquired by IBM in 2009.  Stata is developed by StataCorp in 1985.
Statistical Analysis It has a strong impact on Statistical analysis and is ideal for the analysis of a large amount of data. It is weak in statistical analysis as compared to SPSS as it allows only normal analysis procedures.
Complexity SPSS can be used for analyses that are complicated. Stata is not recommended for complicated analysis.
Applications It is specialized in the areas of medical and social science. It is used in the area of econometrics.
Data Visualization It is used for complex data management. It is used for cutting-edge analysis.
Development It is used for the construction of the Agile Development Life Cycle. It is used for large-scale development.
